Patrick Mahomes emphasizes, “In everything I do, I prioritize putting my family first and cherishing my kids. They are always included in my budget, and I ensure they are at the forefront of my decisions and actions.”Patrick and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, welcomed their first child, daughter Sterling Skye, on Feb. 20, 2021. Their son, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, arrived on Nov. 28, 2022.
In October 2022, Patrick opened up about being a father during an episode of Football in America. The athlete said he plans to “stay out of the way” when it comes to his kids’ potential athletic interests.”I think that’s the best thing for me,” he explained. “I’m going to help teach my son, my daughter all the fundamentals and whatever they want to learn. But at the same time, I want to let it be about them.”Patrick continued: “That’s what my dad did growing up, that’s what my parents did. They let it be about me, let me out there and have fun, they didn’t pressure me to do anything. I think that’s why I’m in the position I am today.”
The quarterback’s biggest fans were there to cheer him on during Super Bowl 2023, where Patrick and the Chiefs ultimately defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35. In 2024, the Mahomes family flew to Las Vegas to watch Patrick win his third Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 11. Brittany, Sterling and baby Bronze stood by the quarterback’s side as he accepted the Lombardi Trophy following the game.
Sterling and Bronze have been staples at their dad’s games since birth. One month before the 2024 Super Bowl, Brittany told PEOPLE that her daughter “loves to watch her dad play football.””She can finally kind of realize what’s going on and where she’s at, and she loves to watch her dad play football. She can see him from a mile away and pays attention and keeps up with what’s going on with him,” the proud mom said.
