Kylie Kelce Reveals Her Nanny Setup for Her and Jason Kelce’s 4 Children
Kylie Kelce is keeping it real about her childcare situation.
The 34-year-old podcast host and wife of Jason Kelce shares four daughters with the ESPN correspondent, but made it clear in a new interview that they don’t do it alone.
“We couldn’t do it without my parents,” Kylie said of mom Lisa and dad Ed McDevitt on the Oct. 14 episode of the IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson podcast. “My parents live 15 minutes from us and they have helped us in every way imaginable.”
She added that her parents step in as often as possible to help with their hectic days as they raise daughters Wyatt, 7, Elliotte, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finn, 1.
“My husband and I have very busy schedules. We don’t necessarily want a live-in nanny or someone who’s going to be raising our kids void of us. That feels weird,” she explained. “So we do a lot with my parents every chance we get. We do things with Jason’s parents. We find that those are the values that we were raised with that we want our kids to have, not just because we tell them that, but because we live it.”
However, despite the focus on family, Kylie also made a point to share that the family does, in fact, employ a nanny.
We’re in a unique situation as well, we weren’t going to your typical online databases to find a random person from our neighborhood,” Kylie explained of seeking out childcare help.
The Philadelphia native also shared that she never had the desire to live anywhere else.
“Going away, living somewhere else, it felt too removed,” she said. “I always loved the idea of coming back. I joke around that when I start my car it calls my mom. But I would feel so weird if I wasn’t able to go home to my parents or to be, at the very least, in the same time zone.”
In addition to cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles, Kylie also gives back through the Eagles Autism Foundation, a cause close to her heart.
“Getting to stay put has given me the opportunity to give back to the community that raised me,” she said.
“It is really important to me that my girls get to experience things where we get to drive past a shop and I say, ‘Oh, that was where Mom’s first job was.’ You get those moments of not only nostalgia, but you’re connected to your community on a deeper level and when you have that connection, I think you feel a better responsibility, a responsibility to give back and then that is the example that we get to set for our kid,” she continued. “And don’t we want that for our kids, to feel empowered to be able to prioritize giving back.”
