They” eventually made its way onto the internet in 2013, and some hardcore Swifties have been crying to it ever since.According to fanlore (a folklore-ian term for fan speculation on Reddit and YouTube comments), Swift wrote “Didn’t They” at the mere age of 11 or 12, at some point after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks that killed 2,996 people when planes crashed into the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
