Competing in the Olympics is truly an experience unlike any other for NBA players.
Rather than compete against their rivals, they can put those things aside to join forces and compete for their country.
Kevin Durant was no stranger to this heading into the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.
Durant already had three gold medals but opted to chase a fourth by committing to play in Paris.
Some players take time to adjust from NBA competition to international competition, as there are slight differences in the rules and how the game is called.
Not Durant. In his first Olympic Games in 2012, he set the record for total points scored in an Olympic basketball tournament.

Durant speaks on teaming up with Stephen Curry…again.
After winning two championships in Golden State, Durant got to team up with Stephen Curry again. This time, on the world stage in Curry’s first Olympics.
“I feel like I was the only one on the court that knew what he was thinking,” Durant said. “It’s like we didn’t have to say much, but I kind of knew.”
Despite not having played together since 2019, Durant says that chemistry came back almost immediately.
“That’s from all those years playing together, watching film together and figuring out (expletive) out, that was cool to feel again.” Durant said. “We worked our way up at Golden State where we didn’t have to talk to each other, I kind of knew what he was thinking and vice versa.”
You can’t argue with the results.
Team USA went a perfect 6-0 in the Paris games, though not without some close calls.
Curry led the team with 14.8 points per game, with Durant finishing third in said category at 13.8 ppg.
Curry’s 47.8 3-point Field Goal Percentage on 7.7 attempts per game would’ve been the highest over a full season of his career.
Just when we thought we had seen it all from Curry, he showed up when the lights were brightest and guided Team USA to gold.
