US President Donald Trump has reaffirmed his policy of “only two genders.” In his first address to the US Congress on Tuesday, the Republican leader recalled one of his executive orders, which called for the establishment of two genders – male and female.

Addressing the joint session of the US Congress, President Trump stated that America “will no longer be woke”, and the “tyranny of diversity” has been ended across the federal government.

Trump also called on Congress to pass a bill which will “ban and criminalise sex changes on children and forever ending the lie that any child is trapped in the wrong body.”

“This is a big lie,” he said, adding that “our message to every child in America is that you are perfect, exactly the way God made you.”

Hours after taking oath as the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump signed an order establishing only two genders.

In the executive order called DEFENDING WOMEN FROM GENDER IDEOLOGY EXTREMISM AND RESTORING BIOLOGICAL TRUTH TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, the Trump administration states that the US will “recognise two sexes, male and female. These sexes are not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality.”
