Billionaire Elon Musk has not announced plans to release names related to rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs and the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on Jan. 20 when President-elect Donald Trump takes office, contrary to social media posts saying he has access to such “lists.”

Combs is being held at a Brooklyn jail, opens new tab at the time of writing over sex-trafficking charges and charges that he used his business empire to sexually abuse women. Combs has denied wrongdoing in both cases. Epstein, who faced sex-trafficking charges, was found dead in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019 in an apparent suicide.
Reuters has previously addressed false claims about people mentioned in unsealed testimony about Epstein’s associates and clients. Similar narratives emerged online after Combs’ arrest in September, speculating about attendees at parties thrown by Combs or gatherings he called “Freak Offs.”
However, there are no credible news reports or an announcement from Musk about releasing Combs’ or Epstein’s purported client lists.
