Oprah Winfrey Under Fire for ‘Shady’ Interview With Beyoncé’s Mom Tina Knowles

The former talk show host upset quite a few of Beyoncé’s fans after she interviewed the singer’s mother, Tina Knowles, and they are letting Winfrey know it.

Knowles released her memoir, titled Matriarch, which was chosen as Winfrey’s latest book club pick. But when the women sat down together for an interview, some thought a comment Winfrey made was completely uncalled for. And now they are dragging the former talk show host for what she said.

Winfrey’s comment about Knowles’ ‘husbands’ upset many fans

While sitting down with Knowles for her podcast, Oprah said: “We are fully engaged in your story and all the people that are in your life — obviously, your ex-husband.” Winfrey then clarified “ex-husbands,” emphasizing the “s” at the end to make it plural. Knowles laughed it off, but not everyone found it funny.

When a clip of that moment was shared on X, the Beyhive started buzzing and went after Winfrey, calling the remark “shady” and “unnecessary.”

This was unnecessary and weird. This is why I don’t care for Oprah anymore,” one person wrote.

“And said it TWICE Tina smack that b****!” another added.

“She didn’t have to go back and pluralize ‘ex.’ The delivery of that made it seem like she was shading her for two failed marriages,” a third opined.

“Wtf is her problem?” a fourth asked.

“That was so unnecessary. She better keep it cute like we don’t play about Mama Tina,” a fifth said, while another posted, “Oprah’s shady ass.”

Some defended Winfrey for this reason

Some though defended Lady O, saying that she and Knowles are friends and have been for years so there’s no need to drag Winfrey for what she said.

As one user reminded everyone: “Lol, Oprah and them are friends, so chill, guys. It’s funny.”
