Ex-Lakers Christian Wood Says Yasmine Lopez Put a Hit Out on Him, Court Grants Custody
Former Los Angeles Lakers forward Christian Wood has accused his ex-girlfriend, Yasmine Lopez, of playing a role in what he described as an attempt on his life during a broad daylight robbery attempt at his home, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly. Wood, who now plays for the Dallas Mavericks, was granted temporary sole custody of their 2-year-old son, Kobe Sean Wood, following the allegations.
Wood filed for a temporary restraining order on Nov. 19, 2025, claiming Lopez may have orchestrated a Nov. 5, 2025, break-in at his Los Angeles residence as part of a “hit” on him. He alleged that Lopez had made repeated threats against his life, including statements hoping he would die and that she would tell their son he was dead. Wood pointed to Lopez’s history of violence, including an August 2023 incident where she allegedly broke into and vandalized his home, prompting police to remove her from the property.
The NBA player also cited a suspicious social media post by Lopez about an hour before the incident, which featured lyrics from a violent song by rapper King Von about murder for hire, accompanied by gun emojis. Wood noted that the post’s timing, combined with recent threats from one of Lopez’s family members and her knowledge of his location, led him to believe she was involved. He added that there had been no similar break-ins reported within a 10-mile radius of his home.
During the Nov. 5 incident, Wood was home alone when he heard noises and spotted three masked men attempting to force entry through his back door. He fired shots toward the floor to scare them off, and the intruders fled in a vehicle without taking anything. No arrests were made in connection with the robbery attempt.
A Los Angeles court granted Wood’s request for a temporary restraining order, requiring Lopez to stay at least 100 yards away from him and their son. The judge also awarded Wood temporary sole legal and physical custody of Kobe, citing the allegations and Lopez’s alleged interference in prior custody arrangements. Lopez denied any involvement in the break-in and disputed that Wood has sole custody. She filed her own restraining order against Wood on Dec. 12, 2025, alleging physical abuse, including kicking, slapping and choking her during disputes, as well as preventing her from leaving with their son during a Valentine’s Day 2024 incid

Lopez, an Instagram model and reality TV personality, has a documented history of legal issues. In February 2024, she was arrested for trespassing at Wood’s property after allegedly hopping his fence and vandalizing a Mercedes-Benz belonging to his then-girlfriend by keying it. Lopez later admitted to the incident in a public statement, saying she spent time in jail and was seeking therapy. Wood was granted a three-year restraining order against her in March 2024 following the event.
In May 2024, after Lopez failed to appear in court, Wood was awarded full custody of Kobe, with Lopez receiving only three hours of supervised visitation per week. The arrangement prohibited her from being alone with Wood and required a court-appointed monitor.
Lopez has children with other high-profile athletes. She shares a 4-year-old son, Chosen Alexander Diggs, with Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs, born in August 2021. Their relationship has been marked by public drama, including accusations of infidelity involving other celebrities.
