Angelina Jolie is due in Venice in a month’s time to promote the film Maria, in which she plays opera legend Maria Callas.

Awkwardly, her former husband Brad Pitt will be there, too – for his new hitman-caper movie Wolfs, with George Clooney.

Sources indicate that the schedules have been arranged so that the warring couple – who continue to be embroiled in legal action eight years after they split – will not be at the film festival at the same time.

Like those German weather house clocks where one figure comes out as the other goes in, they are going to attend the festival and stay at the same hotel, the Cipriani – but not come face to face.

The estranged pair have managed never to be at the same event in Hollywood since splitting, with Jolie largely skipping red-carpet events in LA, even though she lives there with their six children.

It comes after it was revealed Brad is ‘distraught’ and upset he has been unable to speak to his estranged son Pax who is in hospital after crashing his bike into the back of a car in Los Angeles.

Pax was not wearing a helmet when his electric dirt bike ran up the back of a car stopped at a red light on Sunday at 5.12pm on Los Feliz Boulevard, Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to Dailymail.com.

Witnesses at the scene said Pax immediately complained about pain in his head and hip after the crash.

Responding police and paramedics were worried he’d suffered bleeding on his brain so rushed him to the hospital.

The car’s driver reportedly did their duty by getting out and checking on the injured Pax before police and paramedics arrived.

A source close to Angelia Jolie told us she’s ‘by his side in hospital’ where he remains in a stable condition. ‘ The full extent of his injuries are not yet clear.

Pax has been been estranged from Pitt since an alleged domestic violence incident with on a private jet with ex-wife Angelina in 2016. In an Instagram post from 2020, he called his Pitt a ‘world class a***hole’ and an ‘awful human being’.

But despite their lack of contact, a source told DailyMail.com: ‘ Brad is distraught and worried over Pax’s accident, but he is unable to reach him.

‘It is very upsetting to Brad whenever he hears of one of the kids being hurt and he feels completely powerless because there is nothing that he can do at all.’

Pitt, 60, and Jolie, 49, who met in 2004 while filming Mr. And Mrs. Smith before tying the knot in 2014, share six children together. They filed for divorce in September 2016 (pictured at the Venice Film Festival in 2007)

‘A father’s inclination would be to go to the hospital, or to call him. He’s tried so many times but the kids won’t take his calls. His hands are tied.’

‘Brad doesn’t think that Pax should be driving a scooter without a helmet to begin with – he should have been in a car,’ the insider said, in a subtle swipe at Angelina.

Pax was adopted by Jolie , 49, from an orphanage in Vietnam when he was three.

He remains close to his mother, as do his five siblings, Maddox, 23, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.

A source close to Jolie blamed Pitt for his fractured relationship with Pax.
