Fans criticized Taylor Swift for collaborating with Beyoncé and suggested that Swift might invite her to join the alleged secretive group, the Illuminati.
Beyoncé is furthering the yee-haw agenda in pop culture, but will she be taking Taylor Swift out of country music retirement to do so? Signs point to possibly — if Queen Bey’s producer and fan easter eggs are to be believed.
Killah B, who recently produced Beyoncé’s latest country tracks “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages,” was asked during an interview on TMZ if fans can expect any guest stars to feature on the pop star’s Act II and if Swift is part of that list of collaborators. Killah B couldn’t name any names
— Beyoncé sang, “If they’re tryna party with the queen / They gon’ have to sign a non-disclosure,” after all — but the producer did have a brow-raising statement to add to the conversation.”Let’s just say she’s on the approach of shocking the world,” he told the TMZ hosts.
While the producer made sure to leave out any specifics, there are a few clues — easter eggs, if you will — that hint at a Bey and Taylor country collaboration could happen. In 2023, both pop stars released Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé and Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, movies about their concert treks, to major box office success.
At the premiere of Swift’s Eras Tour film, Bey turned up and took pictures with her. Swift later returned the favor when the Renaissance tour movie hit theaters and posed on the carpet for the premiere.
Swift would also be a no-brainer as a potential collaborator for a country song with Bey because her earliest albums (self-titled Fearless and Speak Now) fell within the genre. After Bey earned her latest Hot Country Songs No. 1 for “Texas Hold ‘Em,” it made her the second artist aside from Swift to debut a single in the top spot on the chart.
And let’s not forget the timing of it all — Bey’s Act II and Swift’s forthcoming new album, The Tortured Poets Department, are scheduled to be released less than a month apart (March 29 and April 19, respectively).
A collaborative country single between Bey and Swift would certainly increase album and single sales and sounds like a surefire way to top the charts. Fans will have no choice but to practice their best hoedown dance moves until Act II arrives.
