I do what makes me happy, and for those who criticize me for drinking alcohol, if you perceive it as alcohol when it’s not, then please refrain from criticizing me.
If you’re curious about what it takes to prepare oneself for something as major as the Eras World Tour, Taylor Swift just went ahead and broke down the entire process during her TIME Magazine Person of the Year interview. And it is a LOT.Taylor told the magazine that, while in the past she toured “like a frat guy,” she started training for the Eras Tour six months in advance—doing a combination of gym workouts at Dogpound (where they set her up with a strength, conditioning, and weight training program) as well as choreography.
“Every day I would run on the treadmill, singing the entire set list out loud,” she explained. “Fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs. Then I had three months of dance training, because I wanted to get it in my bones. I wanted to be so over-rehearsed that I could be silly with the fans, and not lose my train of thought.”Taylor said that “learning choreography is not my strong suit,” which is why she started working with choreographer Mandy Moore—who also worked on La La Land and was recommended by Emma Stone.
Meanwhile, Taylor added that—aside from a “hilarious” Grammy night—she’d stopped drinking because “doing that show with a hangover, I don’t want to know that world.”Fair enough! ‘Kay, this has been an update—excuse me while I find a treadmill to “run” on while listening to scream-singing Tay’s entire Eras Tour set list.
