It Ends With Us trailer SLATED by fans! Blake Lively movie roasted for ‘wrong’ casting as viewers accuse sneak peek of giving away the whole plot
The trailer for Blake Lively’s highly-anticipated new romance film, It Ends With Us, was slated by fans online Thursday.
The sneak peek dropped Thursday morning and instantly went viral as fans noticed that its was set to My Tears Ricochet, a song by Blake’s gal pal Taylor Swift.
However many viewers took a dim view of the trailer itself, accusing it of giving away the entire plot of the film before its release.
‘Well, that was the whole movie right there,’ wrote one audience member on X, formerly Twitter, while another remarked: ‘i feel like i just watched the whole movie.’
Similar complaints were aired out on Instagram, where one viewer griped: ‘WHY DID THEY SHOW THE WHOLE MOVIE IN A TRAILER.’
Several social media users also objected to the casting, with some pointing out that the characters appear much older onscreen than in the book.
One wondered: ‘why did they make them 45 lmfao,’ and another remarked: ‘It would be ten times better if they looked a little younger :/’.
‘Literally every character casting was wrong,’ wrote one X user, as another one groused: ‘i hate the way they casted this.’
‘Wow, the lack of chemistry between every character is astounding,’ grumbled one viewer. ‘How have they casted such an ugly atlas omg it’s over,’ sneered another.
Other quibbles were of a more general variety, as with one audience member who wrote: ‘Lively looks the same in every damn film. She’s so boring.’
The film is based on the bestselling book by Colleen Hoover and is directed by Baldoni.
The trailer begins with Lily meeting Ryle at her new flower shop, before the duo hit it off and strike up a romantic relationship.
