Olympian Sha’Carri Richardson has been arrested for allegedly assaulting boyfriend, Christian Coleman at SeaTac Airport.

According to reports, Olympic sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson was arrested on July 27, 2025, at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport for an alleged domestic violence incident involving her boyfriend, fellow sprinter Christian Coleman. A TSA supervisor reported a disturbance, and surveillance footage allegedly showed Richardson shoving Coleman into a column, bumping into him as he tried to walk away, and throwing headphones at him. She was charged with fourth-degree domestic violence assault, a gross misdemeanor in Washington state, and was booked into the South Correctional Entity (SCORE) jail in Des Moines, Washington, at 6:54 p.m. on Sunday, released the following day at 1:13 p.m.Both Richardson and Coleman denied any physical altercation, with Coleman declining to press charges or be listed as a victim. Washington’s stringent domestic violence laws require an arrest if an incident occurred within four hours of police arrival, which likely led to Richardson’s custody based on the video evidence. Despite the incident, both athletes competed in the USA Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, on July 31, though Richardson later withdrew from the 100-meter and 200-meter races. USA Track and Field has not commented on the matter, and no further charges have been confirmed as filed at the time of the reports.
