Princess Catherine unveils new trailer for mental health film in first project since royal’s shock cancer diagnosis
Princess Catherine has made a small step towards a return to royal duties with a major announcement ahead of Mental Health Week.
On Friday, the Prince and Princess of Wales confirmed the release of a new short film to spotlighting the mental health of the country’s farmers.
The short film is the first official project tied to the Princess of Wales since Kate went public with her cancer diagnosis in March following global speculation about her health and whereabouts.
“This #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek we’ve brought together the inspirational Sam Stables from We Are Farming Minds and the brilliant Farmer Will for a very special film,” Kate and William wrote via their official Kensington Palace social media accounts.

“Spending a day together on Sam’s farm in Hereford they chatted about mental health in the farming community, finding support and the Duchy of Cornwall’s Mental Health Strategy.
“Watch the film on YouTube from 12.30pm BST today.”
While Kate does not appear in the ten-minute film, which is streaming on YouTube now, the project was produced with the guidance of the Prince and Princess through the Duchy of Cornwall.
The Duchy Council, called the Prince’s Council, meets twice a year and is chaired by William, who inherited the Duchy from his father when Charles became King and in turn took over the larger Duchy of Lancaster instead.
The project was in the works before Kate’s health battles and the Prince and Princess of Wales met Sam when they visited his farm last September to launch the Duchy’s Mental Health Strategy.
The Duchy, which is now controlled by William and Kate, is working with Sam to expand his charity’s reach to support farmers across the UK suffering from mental health challenges.
The project delighted royal watchers, with many commenters praising the project and commending the couple for spotlighting farmers’ mental health.
“Dear Prince of Wales and Princess Catherine, thank you for shining a light on the farmers,” one royal watcher wrote
