Michael Jackson’s son Bigi – formerly Blanket – Makes a BOLD statement about his Father’s death, with a new controversy surrounding the death of the legendary POP star…See statement here…
The son of the late King of Pop, he has embraced a rather private life over the years.
But Bigi Jackson, the youngest son of the late Michael Jackson, was spotted during a rare public sighting over the weekend.
Bigi – formerly Blanket Jackson – grabbed lunch with pals in Los Angeles on Sunday and opted for a rather laid-back look.
Clad in a blue ‘Quint’s Shark Fishing’ shirt and black bottoms, Bigi, 24, was seen meandering about, looking calm and content.
But something appeared to have captured his attention as he flashed a rather animated expression at one point.
In contrast to his siblings – Paris and Prince Jackson – Bigi has been more averse of the spotlight throughout his life, however he has harnessed the power of his platform to advocate for an important cause.
In 2021, during an interview with Good Morning Britain, he said of climate change: ‘I do think it’s important we all know about it. We have some work to do but our generation knows how important it is,’ he said.
The outing comes as Hollywood prepares to release a new biopic about Bigi’s famous father.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the film shows the Jackson rags to riches story, from his humble beginnings as a child in Gary, Indiana to the world’s biggest star.
It stars Bigi’s cousin, Jaafar Jackson, who is the son of Jermaine Jackson.
Born via surrogate in 2002, Bigi was the baby Michael infamously dangled over a fourth-floor hotel balcony in Berlin to show him off to the fans below.
The King Of Pop died at the age of 50 in 2009 from a cardiac arrest he suffered after having the powerful anesthetic Propofol administered as a sleep aid.
Authorities in February 2010 deemed his death as the result of acute propofol intoxication.
Michael had been administered the powerful drug by his personal doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, who told investigators that the singer called the substance (which he took via an IV drip) ‘milk’ and said he needed it to sleep.
Michael’s family, including his three children – who had not been seen publicly without masks on prior to that time – were on hand for a highly-viewed July 7, 2009 memorial at the Crypto.com Arena (then known as the Staples Center) in Los Angeles.
‘I just wanted to say, ever since I was born, daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine – and I just wanted to say I love him so much,’ Paris, then 11, said at the emotional service.
A private funeral for Jackson’s family and friends was held in Glendale, California at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Eventually, Conrad’s care of Michael fell under scrutiny after the singer’s death, amid questions about his judgment in giving Michael the substance in certain doses, and not meeting safety precautions in administering the drug.
Michael’s death was ultimately deemed a homicide by investigators and in November of 2011 – more than two years after his death – Conrad was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to four years in prison.
Michael had an unprecedented career in music, as one of the best-selling artists of all-time, who won 13 Grammys over 38 nominations.
Honors included Best Male R&B Vocal Performance on Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough in 1980, Album of the Year for Thriller in 1984 and Record of the Year for Beat It the same year.
He was also given the Grammy Legend Award in 1993, and posthumously, The Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010. He had been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
