Serena Williams Shares ‘Unfiltered’ Look at Life with Her 2 Daughters: ‘Just a Tired Mom with a Full Heart’
Serena Williams is sharing a candid look at life with her two daughters.
The tennis pro, 45, posted a few photos on her Instagram on Tuesday, Sept. 29, as she rode in the backseat of a car with her two daughters. In the photos, Williams had daughter Adira, 3, on her lap while her daughter Olympia, 9, sat next to her with her head in her lap.
Williams could be seen holding both her daughters and resting her eyes. “Unfiltered. Raw. Just a tired mom with a full heart holding her whole world….. Ready for whatever comes next,” she wrote in her caption.
Earlier this month, Williams shared a few photos on her Instagram of her daughters Olympia and Adira as they shopped at Nike. In the pictures, the two little ones posed in front of giant black-and-white pictures of Williams playing tennis that were put up around the store.
“@olympiaohanian and @adiraohanian took a little detour while shopping at @nike today… but Mama’s always watching,” joked the proud mom of two.
In May, Williams joined Michelle Obama for a special live taping of IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson, where she spoke with the former first lady about motherhood and how she balances her career with raising her two daughters.
“I really try to be a present parent,” Williams began. “And sometimes that’s hard, especially with the lives that we live; it’s very hard to be present, but I try to be extremely present.”
Asked how she manages to stay present, Williams told Obama that everything she does is “around my kids.”
“I’m never gone more than 24 hours, ever,” she explained. “I didn’t leave Olympia until she was 6 for 24 hours. That may have been a little extreme, but that’s who I am.”
And so for me, I show up as much as I can every single day for the girls. Because I feel like they mean the most to me, and I feel they need me, and they need to make sure, I wanna raise my children. I’m a person that’s raising my kids, and that’s teaching them how I want them to live and how I want them to be.”
